Due to changes within the American Art Therapy Association (AATA), of which we are an affiliate member, art therapists can no longer join ATA-NC directly via the web. You must first be a member of AATA, and all chapter dues must be submitted via the national association. However, the list below is an accurate reflection of the dues for each category of membership within our state chapter.
Professional ($20.00): Those who have been approved for Professional membership with AATA (A.T.R. or A.T.R.-B.C.). Members in this category may vote, hold office and serve on committees with AATA and ATA-NC.
Associate ($20.00): An Associate member of AATA with a masters degree or advanced degree in a non art therapy field. Such members may not vote, hold office, or serve on committees with AATA, but may serve on committees with ATA-NC.
Student ($20.00): A Student member of AATA who does not meet the qualifications of Professional membership, and who is currently taking classes in art therapy or related fields (in accordance with criteria outlined by the AATA Board of Directors). Such members may not vote or hold office, but may serve on committees with AATA and ATA-NC.
Contributor ($20.00): A non-member of AATA who is interested in the field of art therapy. Members in this category may not vote or hold office with AATA or ATA-NC, but may serve on committees with ATA-NC.
Retired (N0 FEE): AATA and ATA-NC members who have reached the age of sixty-five (65), and who are no longer engaged in active practice. Such members may not vote or hold office with AATA, but may vote, hold office, and serve on committees with ATA-NC.
Honorary Life (NO FEE): Professional members of AATA who have made outstanding contributions to the field art therapy. Such members have been selected by the AATA Board of Directors and may vote, hold office, and serve on committees wtih AATA and ATA-NC.
*National AATA membership is required for Chapter Membership, with the exception of the ATA-NC Contributor category.
